EATDUSTDATA.com FAQ
HOW IT WORKS
One transfer, start to finish
Stage the file
Drop it into the app. It reads the real size and shows you the exact cost before anything sends. No estimates, no surprise line items.
Point it at the recipient
You send to a person's ID. The app routes that file to them and no one else. The other side has to be running the app and be online to catch it.
It goes straight across
Your file goes from your machine to the recipient's, encrypted end to end. It isn't parked in a cloud, and it never passes through our account servers.
Encrypted end to end · every byte checked intact on arrival.
The other side confirms it
The receiving app checks the file byte-for-byte, and when it's whole and correct it sends back a signed delivery receipt. That receipt is the proof it landed.
Now — and only now — you pay
The receipt is the only thing that charges you. A confirmed delivery draws the cost from your balance. A transfer that fails sends no receipt and costs you nothing.
No per-attempt fees. You pay for files that arrive — nothing else.
PRICING
Two prices, no surprises.
You load credit up front and spend it down as you send. No add-ons, no per-attempt charges — you pay for files that arrive.
Does my file go through your servers?
No. Your file goes straight to the person you send it to, encrypted end to end. It's never stored on our servers, and we can't read it — even on the rare connection that has to route through a relay, it stays scrambled the whole way.
Can you see my file?
No. Everything is encrypted end to end — only the sending and receiving machines hold the keys. We never have a readable copy of your file, and none of it is kept once it's delivered.
What's this prepaid balance about?
You load credit onto your account up front, then spend it down as you send. It keeps each transfer instant — no card round-trip in the middle of your work.
Is the credit refundable?
No. The credit is prepaid and non-refundable, with no cash value — think arcade tokens. You spend it on transfers; you don't cash it back out. It may expire, so load what you expect to use.
If a transfer fails, am I charged?
No. The charge only fires on a confirmed, verified delivery. No delivery, no receipt, no charge — your balance isn't touched.
How big a file can I send?
No ceiling from us. The only real limits are your connection and the disk space on each end.
What do I install, and what does it run on?
A small desktop app on each end. It runs on Windows 10 and 11, current macOS, and Linux (Mint). Both the sender and the receiver use it.
What happens if I switch computers or lose my machine?
Your balance lives on your account, not on the computer. Your account is anchored to your card, with your email and phone as backups. Reinstall, switch machines, or replace a dead laptop — your credit is right where you left it, because it was never on the box.
TERMS OF SERVICE
Terms of Service
Last updated: [DATE]. These Terms govern your use of Eat Dust Data, operated by Creator One LLC ("we," "us"), a Florida limited liability company. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.
1. What the service is
Eat Dust Data is a peer-to-peer file delivery tool. Your file is sent directly from your machine to the recipient's, encrypted end to end. We operate a small coordinator that introduces the two apps and records a delivery receipt; the file itself does not pass through our account servers, and we do not store or read your files.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be 18 or older to hold an account. Only the sender holds an account and funds; the receiving side holds no account. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
3. Pricing and billing
Under 1 GB: 10¢ per transfer. 1 GB or more: 20¢ per GB, billed to the byte. For billing, 1 GB = 1,073,741,824 bytes, and size is measured by the actual number of bytes received on a confirmed delivery. You are charged only on a confirmed, verified delivery; a transfer that fails sends no receipt and is not charged. Prices are exclusive of tax; applicable tax may be added.
4. Credit terms
You fund your account with prepaid credit and spend it down as you send. Account credit is prepaid, non-refundable, and has no cash value — like arcade tokens. It is usable only for transfers on Eat Dust Data, cannot be cashed out, and may expire 12 months after purchase (or as required by applicable law). Load what you expect to use. Where the law of your state requires more favorable treatment of stored value, that law controls.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the service to send, request, or facilitate:
- Anything illegal, including child sexual abuse material, content that exploits or endangers minors, or material that facilitates trafficking.
- Malware, or content intended to harm, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to any system.
- Content that infringes someone else's intellectual property or other rights.
- Transfers to or from parties, or in countries, barred by applicable sanctions or export-control law.
- Any use that violates applicable law or the rights of others.
You are solely responsible for what you send and represent that you have the right to send it.
6. Your content and our access
Your files are yours. We claim no license to your content beyond what is technically required to transmit it, and we do not use it for any other purpose. Because transfers are encrypted end to end, we do not monitor, scan, or have a readable copy of your files. We have no obligation to monitor content.
7. Illegal content and legal process
We do not scan or monitor your transfers, and nothing here requires us to. If we obtain actual knowledge of child sexual abuse material or other reportable content, we will report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and preserve related records as required by law. We will cooperate with valid legal process to the extent we are technically able. Because we do not hold your files, we can only provide information we actually log — such as transfer metadata, account information, and delivery receipts — not file contents we never possess.
8. Service availability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, specific transfer speeds, or that every transfer will succeed. We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
[COUNSEL CLAUSE] To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
[COUNSEL CLAUSE] To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars (USD 100), whichever is greater.
11. Indemnification
[COUNSEL CLAUSE] You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and costs arising out of your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms or the law.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, suspected fraud, a payment dispute, or to comply with law. Prepaid credit is non-refundable on termination for cause.
13. Sanctions and export compliance
You agree to comply with all applicable trade, economic-sanctions, and export-control laws, and you represent you are not a barred party and are not located in a barred country.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted here and, where appropriate, notified to you. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law
[COUNSEL CLAUSE] These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Florida — except where mandatory consumer-protection law of your home jurisdiction provides otherwise.
